Bold Coloured Bathrooms

This year we've seen bathrooms break away from the clinical feeling, all-white affairs we've grown accustomed too. More and more we're seeing bold brassware finishes in nickel, copper and gold alongside wallpapers and bathroom wall panels in vibrant designs. Even plantlife is coming into the bathroom more and more, bringing the outside in to create a personal and private oasis to unwind and relax after a long day. 

People are becoming more and more confident to inject their personality into their bathrooms, ensuites and cloakrooms. A big part of the bathroom designs 2021 will bring will centre around creating spa-like sanctuaries in our homes and a fusion of traditional and modern fixtures and fittings. 

Small Bathroom Accessories

When it comes to a clean and contemporary bathroom, wetroom or cloakroom it's the little touches that make the most impact. People are focusing more and more on the small details to add personal flair to their bathrooms such as drawer handles, pull cords, bath feet and more. This makes items in the bathroom such as the drawers in a vanity unit that little bit more satisfying to use due to the improved ergonomics.

Luxury Showering Spaces

Transforming interior spaces into seamless experiences to create more satisfying usage is key for 2021. Homeowners tend to use their bathrooms twice a day with studies showing that the average female spends 29 minutes in the bathroom each day. This means that it's become a necessity to craft home spa-like spaces with relaxing atmospheres so that we can enjoy every second we spend in our bathrooms. 

Alongside the new-found popularity of luxury finishes and sleek storage solutions, integration and inclusion of nature and plant life isn't going anywhere, as the link between nature and relaxation keeps growing in popularity as time goes on.

Modern and Vintage Bathroom Styles

2021 will see a continuation of the recent trend of stylishly combining multiple styles into one room. The modern and vintage mix is a steadily growing interior design trend that we see continuing well into the new year. This style combines traditional statement pieces such as claw-footed roll-top baths or Edwardian style basins with contrasting modern fixtures such as LED mirrors or sleek, wall-mounted bath filler taps.

Metal Finishes in Bathrooms

For decades the go-to metal finish in bathrooms and even kitchens has been trusty chrome. It's shiny, cheap and relatively easy to keep clean. Despite this 2021 will see the trend towards alternative metal and brassware finishes continue. Much like the 2019/2020 rise of matte black bathroom taps, kitchen taps and showers, 2021 will also include a surge in popularity of metal finishes such as gold, nickel and bronze.

Eco-Friendly Bathrooms

Sustainability means different things to different people but it is something we should all be keeping in mind when designing our new bathrooms and even kitchens in 2021. This could mean opting for eco-conscious bathroom products that use less water than standard versions, saving energy and also money. Going green is a quickly growing bathroom trend that won't be slowing down any time soon.
