How to Get Your Perfect Black Bathroom | Black Bathroom Guide

14 Dec 2020, 10:48 AM

Your bathroom is one of the most used spaces in your home and oftentimes it seems to be the only place you can get some peace and quiet. Everyone deserves a bathroom that's luxurious and an all-round pleasure to use. Recently at Rubberduck Bathrooms, we're seeing a rise in the number of people opting for black fixtures and fittings in their bathrooms, and it seems it's going to continue to grow in popularity in new bathrooms in 2021.

If you're used to all-white fittings in your bathroom the thought of introducing black could seem a little daunting, but don't worry! If you're scared that your bathroom might look like its fresh out of The Addams Family just remember the most important thing, a little goes a long way.

A few feature pieces such as a shower valve here and a basin mixer there will have a big impact and make your bathroom feel all that more sophisticated. From modern and easy to install black bathroom accessories to gorgeous freestanding bath filler taps.

Black Bathroom Walls

The most important aspect of making a black bathroom work is with contrast using different textures and clever lighting methods. Black bathroom wall panels such as Riven Slate by Multipanel (pictured above) adds drama and brings attention to any showering space with its striking black colours and realistic texturing. Large statement mirrors can also open up space where a dark-wall could otherwise make them feel smaller.

Always remember that black goes with everything but we don't recommend an entirely black colour scheme. Going all black could make a small room feel enclosed which is the opposite of what you want. If you do opt for black walls or floors in your new black bathroom, pair it with white bathroom furniture and a different colour or material to contrast with such as wood to add elegance to the bathroom and bring the room together.

Black and White Bathrooms

If the idea of going all out with black fixtures and fittings seems a little too extreme to you, then a monochrome colour scheme could be right up your alley. Black and white bathroom colour schemes are exploding with popularity right now and it's easy to see why, they're sleek, clean and modern while fitting in nicely in any home. You can easily add interest to the room with a patterned black and white tiled floor, or a metallic fitting or two.

At Rubberduck Bathrooms we have a range of black basin taps, bath fillers and showers such as the Kate Dual Head Thermostatic Shower from our Signature range

Black Shower

One of the most popular additions to black bathrooms we have seen has been the increase in popularity of black grid shower and wetroom glass. The black shower frame craze has become a favourite amongst those looking to add character to their showering space and Instagrammers alike.
