How to Change the Handles on a Scudo Core Tap

9 Oct 2023, 11:59 AM

The Scudo Core tap is designed with versatility in mind, offering two handle options to match your preferred style. Whether you prefer a diamond cross hatch detail or a sleek smooth appearance, changing the handles is a breeze. This guide will walk you through the process step-by-step, allowing you to effortlessly update the look and feel of your tap in seconds.

Tools and Materials Needed:

  • Provided allen key

Step-by-Step Guide:

1. Unscrew the Handle:

  • Locate the handle on your Scudo Core tap.
  • Carefully unscrew the handle counterclockwise to reveal a grub screw.

2. Loosen the Grub Screw:

  • Once the handle is removed, you will see a grub screw underneath.
  • Use the provided allen key to gently loosen the grub screw. Be cautious not to over-tighten or strip the screw.

3. Remove the Tap Head:

  • With the grub screw loosened, the tap head should easily slide off. Set it aside for now.

4. Remove the Handle:

  • Slide the handle off the tap spindle, exposing the spindle itself.
  • If you're switching to an alternative handle, repeat steps 1 and 2 on the new handle to loosen its grub screw.

5. Place the New Handle:

  • Slide the new handle onto the tap spindle in the same position as the original handle.
  • Ensure that the grub screw on the new handle is lined up with the hole on the tap spindle.

6. Secure with the Grub Screw:

  • Use the provided allen key to tighten the grub screw on the new handle securely.
  • Make sure it's snug but not overly tight to prevent damage.

7. Screw in the Handle:

  • Once the new handle is securely attached, screw it onto the tap spindle clockwise until it's firmly in place.

8. Final Check:

  • Double-check that the new alternative handle is in the same position as the original handle. This ensures that hot and cold mixing remains in the same location.

Congratulations! You've successfully changed the handles on your Scudo Core tap, giving it a fresh new look. Enjoy the flexibility of switching between handle styles to match your changing tastes and styles.
