How To Clean Black Taps

22 Apr 2020, 9:44 AM

Cleaning Your Black Taps

If you are looking to update your bathroom or kitchen, by now you will have looked on Instagram and Pinterest for inspiration. No doubt have seen a wide array of matt black taps and brassware.

Over the last year, black colour schemes have seen a rapid rise in popularity and have become the ‘must-have’ in kitchens and bathroom interior design, but many people are put off by thinking that black would be a nightmare to keep clean but that’s not always the case.

You can, of course, carry on as usual, but unlike ‘regular’ metallic or chrome taps, matt black needs a more delicate and thoughtful approach to cleaning.

Cleaning Matt Black Taps

To get your black taps clean, just need:

  • Warm water
  • Soft micro-fibre cloth.

Nothing more, nothing less. Clean your black tap or shower from top to bottom of the tap with minimal scrubbing, gently and without too much elbow grease. And there you have it, clean black taps.

Do not use the following when cleaning black bathroom taps.

  • Scourers, or anything abrasive or scratchy
  • Chemical-based cleaners
  • Bleach
  • Polish or wax
  • Anything acidic like a homemade lemon spray

Remember, these matt black taps are your pride and joy!

They are delicate and stylish – they’re not a stainless steel saucepan! One false move with a heavy chemical cleaning product could see the demise of that perfect matt black finish – and with it, the end of your beautiful social media-worthy bathroom space!

Some say that cleaning black taps is easier than clean normal metallic taps as you don’t need and special chemicals or solutions and this also saves money on cleaning products and less water pollution.

Black Bathroom Tap

If you are looking to update your bathroom taps or kitchen tap to something more trend-setting, it worth looking at updating your brassware to a black basin and bath taps to add that extra style to your room.
