Reasons to use a fast fit shower kit
4 Aug 2017, 4:16 PM
When it comes to fitting a new exposed shower valve, in particular a bar mixer shower, a fast fit shower kit is worth purchasing. Here are some reason why you should use a fast fit kit.
For:
- Cost- fast fit kits are cheap and reduce fitting time.
- Water connections are made in front of the finished wall surface (unlike traditional ‘Z’ connectors) so any leak are visible and leak into the tray or bath and not in areas you cant see.
- Bar valve is secured to the wall which makes the installation more secure than some other methods.
- Suitable for any bar valve using 3/4” female threads
- Easy Maintenance. Should you need to remove and replace your shower valve in the future, its easy to remove the valve and replace, even for a DIYer.
So that we are fair, here are a couple of downside to a fast fit kit.
- No centre and levelling adjustment – rely heavily on accurate 1st fixing of pipework
- No seal on the reverse to prevent water ingress so pipe holes in the tile must be sealed separately.
These down side are only minor things and are easy to overcome for a fitter.
You can but a fast fit shower kit from ourselves, Rubberduck Bathrooms, and we would always recommend adding one to your cart when buying a bar mixer shower.
