Multipanel is pleased to announce the acquisition of an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) certificate for its UK Multipanel and Naturepanel collections. This achievement underscores the company's dedication to environmental stewardship and its support for residential and commercial projects in their transition towards a more sustainable future.

Multipanel EPD

The certification process involved conducting a comprehensive Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of the products, examining everything from their construction and raw materials to packaging, transportation, installation, and eventual disposal at the end of their lifespan.

Manufactured in Britain, Multipanel wall panels utilize locally sourced raw materials from the UK and Ireland. Their production process is efficient, requiring less energy than that of ceramic tiles, and they are easy to transport. Opting for Multipanel or Naturepanel over traditional tiles can result in a significant 60% reduction in CO2 emissions. In fact, in 2023 alone, this reduction was equivalent to circumnavigating the Earth 628 times!

Multipanel Nature Panel

EPDs play a crucial role in facilitating trade by transparently communicating the environmental performance and impact of products, including Multipanel's Tile Collection. This transparency empowers stakeholders in the construction sector and homeowners to make informed choices that support carbon emission reduction efforts.

Moreover, EPDs enable easy comparison and selection of products with minimal environmental impact. As part of the broader commitment to achieve net zero emissions by 2050, builders, architects, and specifiers rely on EPDs during the product selection phase to assess material impacts, ensuring the specification of the most sustainable options available. This strategic approach not only enhances a building's sustainability profile but also has the potential to increase its market value and reduce overall ownership costs.
