Central Heating Radiators

Central Heating radiators come in many different styles, sizes and shapes. The most common being panel radiators due to them being easy to fit and low cost. Panel Radiators come in a variety of styles known as types. Rubberduck Bathrooms stock a range of type 11, type 21 and type 22. Type 11 or single panel radiators are perfect for heating small rooms due to their compact thickness. Type 21 or double panel radiators have two heated panels and one set of fins for higher heat output compared to a type 11 radiator in the same size. Type 22 radiators are similar to type 21 but contain two sets of internal fins to maximise heat output, making them perfect for larger rooms while keeping running costs down.

Designer and feature radiators work just as well as standard radiators while providing a modern feel to the room they're used in. On the contrary, our range of traditional radiators is perfect for keeping the feel of older houses and giving an industrial look.

Check out our radiator calculator to see how many BTU's you need to properly heat your rooms.

Central Heating Radiators

Rubberduck Bathrooms has a wide range of central heating radiators at great prices. Many of our products also have FREE UK delivery as standard. A properly heated home is important for your health and happiness and reduces the chances of condensation, damp and mould in your home.

What is the best radiator for heat?

The best material for a standard radiator is aluminium due to their excellent heat transfer properties. Most radiators used in homes are made from Steel at they provide a good balance between cost and heat transfer. Cast iron is the best material for traditional radiators as they retain heat well and offer great durability, meaning that they continue to heat your home long after you've turned them off.

What's the difference between Type 21 and Type 22 Radiators?

The main difference between type 21 and type 22 radiators is the number of fins between the two panels.  These fins passively draw cold air in through the bottom and hot air out the top as the heat rises. Type 21 radiators contain one set of fins whereas type 22 contains 2 sets of fins for higher heat output. Because of this they also tend to be thicker than other radiators

How Often Should Radiators Be Replaced?

When it comes to replacing radiators, nothing is set in stone but the general rule is every 15 to 20 years. With good upkeep and care, they may last longer. To prolong the life of your radiators it is recommended they are power flushed every 5 to 6 years. ONLY get this done by a professional plumber.
